Sales and B2B

B2B AI Sales Agents

Monday, the same RFQs and reorders. An agent looks up their net and availability. It drafts the quote. A person still signs over the cap.

  • Named tools only
  • Associate review
  1. A buyer request arrives.
  2. The agent uses named tools on your systems.
  3. Read tools fetch contract price, availability, and the account record.
  4. Write tools draft a quote or a reorder cart.
  5. Price exceptions and high-value quotes stop for an associate.
  6. The existing commerce system completes the transaction.

The work today

Sales teams lose hours to requests that already have an answer in the price book, the inventory system, and the last order. Quote requests, customer-specific pricing lookups, availability questions, reorders, and open-order status — looked up by hand, across systems, for buyers who will not wait on a chatbot. The expensive failure is quoting list price into a contract account, or letting an agent place the order because it was told to be helpful.

What the agent does

A B2B AI sales agent retrieves authorized customer pricing, availability, and order history, then prepares the next step — a quote, a reorder cart, or an account brief. The buyer confirms a routine request, or a sales associate reviews a high-value quote or a price exception. The commerce system records the transaction. Account questions — what is open, what is late, what is due to reorder — use the same permissioned context. They are not a separate product.

How it works

From buyer question to confirmed next step

The agent retrieves what the account is allowed to see, prepares the work, and stops where a person should still decide.

Identify the account

A public shopper, an authenticated buyer, and a sales associate are not the same person. Mixing them is how one account sees another account's price.

Retrieve authorized context

Customer-specific pricing, availability, and order history come from the systems that already hold them. No account-matched price means say so and hand off — do not guess from the public catalog.

Prepare the next step

A quote, a reorder cart, or an account brief. The buyer or associate confirms. The agent does not capture payment.

Confirm in commerce

The buyer confirms a routine reorder, or an associate reviews a high-value quote or price exception. The existing commerce system records the order.

Systems

What it is allowed to touch

Named tools only. Anything undeclared is unreachable, regardless of the prompt.

Price book and ERP

Customer-specific price, not the public catalog. If the account does not match, stop. Not every business can call this safely yet — that is a foundation, not a prompt fix.

Inventory and ATP

What can actually ship, including reserved and inbound — not a single "in stock" flag the storefront already shows.

CRM / account record

Assigned associate, open quotes, order history, and the accounts that associate is allowed to see.

PRICE EXCEPTION

Approval

The agent does not capture payment and does not silently place a purchase order. High-value quotes and any override of contract price wait for a named associate. The agent makes the right decision cheaper to take; it does not take it.

What it can do

What a B2B AI sales agent can do

Capabilities, not percentages. We do not have published agent case studies, so we will not invent a conversion lift.

Quote request assistance

Prepare a quote from the buyer's price and availability. The commerce or CPQ system issues it after the buyer confirms or an associate reviews.

B2B reorder assistance

Assemble a last-order repeat with availability called out before anyone promises a date. The buyer or associate confirms. The agent does not place the PO.

Customer-specific pricing lookup

Retrieve the contracted net for this account. If there is no match, say so and hand off — do not interpolate from list price.

Product availability checks

Answer from business-aware availability — reserved, inbound, and what can actually ship — not a storefront stock badge.

Account-related sales assistance

What is open, what is late, what is up for reorder. Same permissioned account context as a quote. Not a second agent family.

Human-approved sales workflows

Route off-book discounts, new ship-to, credit questions, and high-value quotes to a named associate. Routine lookups do not need that queue.

Monday, the queue is the same quote request in different clothes. What is my net. Can you reorder last month’s pack. Is that product available for my ship-to. The answers are in the price book, in what can actually ship, and in order history. They are not on the public catalog.

This week the agent looks up authorized price and availability, drafts the quote or reorder cart, and hands off when the account does not match or the ask is over the cap. It does not capture payment. It does not place the PO.

A person still signs high-value quotes, contract-price exceptions, credit questions, and any silent order.

Skip it if customer-specific price cannot be called without leaking another account’s book, or if a deterministic CPQ rule already issues the class of quote you care about and an associate only clicks confirm. That is a fine outcome. You do not need an agent to restate a rule.

This page is the commercial summary for B2B AI sales agents. Quote construction, identity, reorder cadence, and account-manager workflows stay in the field-guide cluster linked below. Those posts remain the long-form ranking URLs.

Built for B2B, not retail chat

A retail chatbot answers from a public catalog. A wholesale buyer is asking for their price, their pack, their last order, and their open quote. Those are different products.

If the question is really “chatbot vs agent,” use the AI agent vs chatbot comparison. This page is the B2B sales offer, not that evaluation table.

Who this helps

Sales leaders. First response on repetitive RFQs and reorders without handing the account to a bot that quotes the website.

Operations leaders. Fewer cross-system lookups for status, availability, and last-order repeats — with a named person still on exceptions.

IT and architecture leaders. Named reads against systems you already run, a stop before payment or a silent PO, and no requirement to put contract price on the public storefront.

Business owners. One workflow at a time — quotes or reorders — rather than a promise to automate the whole sales org on day one.

Account management nests here

“What is open on this account, what is late, what is up for reorder” is the same permissioned context as a quote. We did not create /ai-agents/account-management/. If that is the pain, start with the account-manager guide and the reorder guide, then the engagement at eCommerce AI Agents.

What this is not

Where automation should stop — and how a human queue is actually built — is in the human-in-the-loop guide. This page does not retell that implementation.

How to start

  1. Pick one repetitive sales workflow, usually quotes or reorders — not the whole book of business.
  2. Name the data that workflow needs: customer pricing, availability, order history, and who is allowed to see which account.
  3. Write the approval boundary: what the agent may prepare, and what a named associate must still decide.
  4. Test against real requests, including the case where price does not match.
  5. Expand only after that first workflow is reliable.

Not every business already has those foundations. If customer price cannot be called without leaking another account’s book, you are not ready for a buyer-facing agent. That is a data and identity problem — see the knowledge agent and the readiness assessment — not a prompt problem.

Why FactualMinds

FactualMinds helps businesses find, build, and run production AI agents — starting where the work is repetitive and the data is real. We go deepest in eCommerce, including B2B quoting and reordering, with AWS engineering underneath.

Verified credentials, not agent-delivery proof: AWS Select Tier Services Partner, AWS Marketplace seller, and 50+ AWS certifications on staff. Specialization in agentic AI — not an AWS Agentic AI Competency. There are zero published AI-agent case studies. Judge the sales work on the field guide below, then the eCommerce AI Agents engagement if you want it built.

Field-guide depth

These posts are the long-form canonicals. This page does not replace them, and they are not redirected here.

AI Sales Agent for B2B eCommerce (2026)

Monday, the wholesale counter. An agent looks up their net, not the public product page. 3 signed-in roles keep the price book closed. No payment capture.

AI Quote Agent: Automating B2B eCommerce Quote Requests (2026)

Monday, the RFQ clipboard. An agent drafts from customer price and ATP. Over the $5,000 fixture cap stays HITL. CPQ still issues the quote.

AI Account Manager Agent for B2B eCommerce (2026)

Monday, the AM desk. An agent caps accounts requiring attention at 5 rows with evidence on each. Sales still owns the call. Demo dollars are fixtures.

AI Reorder Agent for B2B Customers (2026)

Monday, the account calendar. A ~30-day cadence that goes quiet is an AM task — not a "we miss you" email. Day 38 is a queue row. Sales still decides who speaks.

AI Agent for B2B Customer Onboarding (2026)

Monday, the onboarding checklist. An agent collects docs and drafts setup. Credit limit stays null until a person signs. No $50k starter guess.

What a B2B Agent May Quote (2026)

Quote the customer's contract price, or say you cannot. A $5,000 auto-issue figure in the field guide is a placeholder, not your cap. A person still sends the quote. The public catalog is not the contract.

Who May Release a B2B Credit Hold? (2026)

Assemble the hold reason, aging, and promise-to-pay. Finance releases the order. The agent does not. The account-manager list still caps at 5 priorities — a hold is one of those 5, not a button.

AI Agent vs Workflow Automation: What Should eCommerce Businesses Use? (2026)

Do not replace Shopify Flow or the order-system cancel window with a chat bot. Hybrid is the default: rules own money; the agent returns a decision. Support-shaped pilots ran about 3× platform spend when a browser stayed on.

Human-in-the-Loop AI Agents for eCommerce: Where Automation Should Stop (2026)

Human approval is a queue with order id and tool trace — not a prompt. The public worksheet uses a $75 refund ceiling above which a person must click Approve. Never auto-approve when the SLA expires.

The eCommerce AI Agent Readiness Assessment: Is Your Business Ready? (2026)

Score org-wide readiness out of 30. Below 16 out of 30, do not let it change orders. McKinsey found 62% experimenting and 23% scaling — still a minority per function.

The engagement

Where this sits

Family page → industry or decide tree → the engagement. AWS cases on this site are not agent results.

Common questions

Before you start

Can a B2B AI sales agent automate quote requests?
It can prepare a quote from customer-specific price and availability. It does not auto-issue above your approval rules, and it does not capture payment. The commerce or CPQ system issues the quote after the buyer confirms or an associate reviews. The quote-agent field guide on this page is the long-form gate table.
Can it handle wholesale reorders?
It can assemble a reorder from account order history and availability. The buyer or a sales associate confirms. The agent does not place the purchase order, and it does not email the customer on a missed cadence in week one. The reorder field guide covers the internal recommended-action path.
Can it access customer-specific pricing?
Only when the account matches. If the only catalog the agent can see is public list price, it should not sit in front of contract buyers. No match means say so and hand off — not interpolate from the public product page.
What systems can it integrate with?
The usual sources are a price book or ERP, inventory or available-to-promise, and a CRM or account record with order history. The constraint is whether those systems can be called for the right account — not which storefront brand you run. We do not publish a vendor compatibility list on this page.
How much does a B2B AI sales agent cost?
There is no published SKU price. We scope after we see how quotes and reorders move today, and whether customer-specific price can be called without leaking another account. Platform hosting cost is a separate modeling problem from the implementation engagement.
How do we know if we are ready, and can we start with one use case?
Yes — start with one repetitive workflow, usually quotes or reorders, once customer price, availability, and account identity can be joined without guessing. If they cannot, that is a data problem first. The readiness assessment linked in the field-guide section is the longer checklist; this page is not a second score.
Where does account management live?
Here. Open orders, late shipments, and renewals are the same permissioned account context as a quote. There is no /ai-agents/account-management/ in v1.
Do you have B2B agent case studies?
Not yet. The B2B sales, quote, reorder, and account-manager field-guide posts are the published depth. Do not read AWS case studies on this site as agent results. We have no published agent case study that invents quote-win rate or conversion lift.
